Meet Bethany GRATE Lee.
Bethany is a law clerk at McInerney Law and a third-year Juris Doctor candidate at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, where she focuses her legal studies on estate planning, probate, and special needs planning.
At Cumberland, she is an active member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board, serving as Secretary and competing on the Negotiation and Client Counseling Teams. She was a finalist in the 2024 ABA Regional Negotiation Competition and also participated in the school’s Advocacy Study Abroad Program at the University of Edinburgh, further expanding her litigation and advocacy skill set.
In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Bethany stays involved in her community. She is a member at Christ the King Anglican Church and she currently serves on the Junior Boards of Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham and Down Syndrome Alabama, where she helps advocate for increased access to legal resources and disability rights in Alabama.
Bethany holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Middle Tennessee State University, equipping her with strong research, analytical, and communication skills that she brings to every aspect of her legal work.
